The rules
of the game.
Last updated: 7 November 2026
These Terms are the contract between you and whoever runs Arkeon: they say what we offer, what you can and can't do, how subscriptions and the free trial work, and what happens if something goes wrong. We wrote them in plain words. How we process your data is covered separately, in the Arkeon Privacy Policy.
In short
- You can use Arkeon from age 16, with a personal account (section 3).
- The FREE plan is free. PLUS for athletes and PRO for professionals are bought in the app, through Apple or Google, and renew automatically until you cancel them in the store (section 4).
- PLUS and PRO come with a 14-day free trial: to start it you need a payment method in your Apple or Google account, and unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the subscription starts and is charged automatically. During the trial Arky has 20 requests in total; the plan's requests start with the first payment (sections 4 and 5).
- Arkeon isn't a medical device: its numbers, Arky and the app's tips are estimates and general guidance, not medical advice, and don't prepare diets. Talk to a doctor before you train, stop if you feel unwell and in an emergency call the emergency number of the country you're in (sections 5 and 6).
- Your content stays yours; we only need the rights to show it to the people you choose (section 8).
- No illegal, offensive or misleading content, no cheating on times: you can report anything with “Report”, and anyone who breaks the rules can be suspended or banned (sections 7 and 9).
- Professionals are responsible for their services; Arkeon isn't a party to their relationship with athletes (section 12).
- If we shut down the service or remove a paid feature, we'll tell you at least 60 days in advance (section 16).
- Italian law and the Italian text apply; if you're a consumer, the competent court is the one where you live (section 20).
1. Who we are and what these Terms are for
Arkeon is an app and a website (arkeonsport.com) for athletes and for the professionals who follow them. They're run by Matteo Magalotti and Alessio Chialli, founders of Arkeon, at via Ospedalicchio 40, San Giustino (PG), Italy (referred to here as “Arkeon” or “we”). The company that will run Arkeon hasn't been set up yet: when it is, we'll say so here and let you know.
These Terms apply to everyone who uses Arkeon. Together with them, the following also apply:
- the Arkeon Privacy Policy, which explains how we process personal data;
- for people who use the professional area, the Professional Terms and the Data Processing Agreement for professionals.
We ask you to accept these Terms when you sign up, or on the “Before you start” screen the first time you sign in. If you don't accept them, you can't use Arkeon.
2. The service
With Arkeon you can record and import your workouts, keep the LogBook of measurements, sleep, nutrition and wellbeing, plan your sessions, track your progress, publish posts, take part in groups, chats and sector leaderboards, collaborate with professionals and ask Arky, the app's artificial intelligence, for advice.
Some features depend on your plan (section 4), your phone, the permissions you grant and the services you connect. The app improves and changes over time: we can add, change or remove features, following the rules in section 16.
Arkeon is a support tool for sports: it isn't a healthcare service and doesn't replace a doctor, a nutritionist or a qualified coach (section 6).
3. Account and minimum age
- To use Arkeon you must be at least 16 years old. When you sign up we ask for your date of birth.
- Use real details, in particular your date of birth, and a name that doesn't make people think you're someone else.
- Your account is personal: you can't transfer it or let others use it. Keep your password safe: you're responsible for what happens with your account, unless it's caused by us.
- If you think someone is using your account, change your password and write to support@arkeonsport.com.
- You can delete your account whenever you want from Settings › Account › Delete account (section 18).
4. Plans, subscriptions and free trial
The plans
- FREE: free, with no expiry. Some features have limits, and Arky isn't included.
- PLUS: a subscription for athletes, with all the athlete features and Arky.
- PRO: a subscription for professionals, which unlocks the professional area and also includes PLUS. You choose the tier based on the maximum number of athletes you follow at the same time in an ongoing collaboration: 5, 20, 50 or 100. A paused or ended collaboration doesn't count. If you've already reached the maximum, a new collaboration can't start, and a paused one can't resume, until you free up a place or move to a higher tier.
What each plan includes is described in the app before you buy.
Purchase and renewal
PLUS and PRO are bought in the app, from Apple's App Store or Google Play: the store collects the payment and shows you the price before you confirm. PLUS and the PRO tiers for 20, 50 and 100 athletes are monthly or yearly; the PRO tier for 5 athletes is quarterly or yearly.
The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, until you cancel it in the store settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If you cancel, the plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for. If the price changes, the store tells you before the renewal and, when the law or its rules require it, asks you to accept it. If you change phone or reinstall the app, use “Restore purchases”.
You can switch to a different plan or tier: moving up takes effect immediately, moving down usually from the next renewal, under the store's rules.
Free trial
PLUS and every PRO tier include a 14-day free trial. To start it you need a valid payment method, such as a card, in your Apple or Google account: you pay nothing during the trial, but at the end of the 14 days the subscription starts and is charged automatically, at the price and for the period you chose, unless you cancel it in the store settings at least 24 hours before the trial ends. If you cancel before then, you pay nothing. The trial can be used only once: if you've already used it with an Arkeon plan, such as PLUS, you pay from the start when you switch to another plan. During the trial you have all the features of the plan, with one limit: Arky has 20 requests in total, and the plan's requests start with the first payment (section 5).
Invite a friend
With “Invite a friend” you get a personal 8-character code, to send to anyone you like.
- Whoever receives it uses the code, from the link or by typing it in, within 7 days of signing up. Each account can use only one code, and never its own.
- To earn the reward, the invited friend must: log 3 activities of at least 10 minutes, on 3 different days, within 7 days of signing up; add a profile photo; follow 3 people. All within 30 days of signing up.
- As soon as they're done, you each get 7 days of PLUS, you and them. There's no limit on the number of friends: every friend who completes the steps gives you another 7 days.
- In each gifted week Arky has 20 requests; unused ones are reset when the gifted PLUS ends (section 5).
- Gifted days cost nothing and don't need a payment method: at the end you go back to FREE on your own, with no renewal.
- If you already have PLUS or PRO, including during the free trial, you lose nothing: the days are set aside and start when you go back to FREE. If during a gifted week you buy PLUS or PRO in the store, from then on the subscription you bought applies, in place of the remaining gifted days.
- The reward has no cash value: it can't be transferred to another account or exchanged for money or other rewards.
- The code doesn't work between people who have blocked each other. A suspended or banned account doesn't get rewards for its invitations, and its code doesn't work.
- Fake accounts, accounts created just for the rewards and other abuse of “Invite a friend” breach these Terms: we can cancel the rewards and apply the measures in section 9.
You see the people you invited on the “Invite a friend” page, with their name, profile photo and how many of the 3 steps they've done, not their activities. How we handle this data is explained in the Arkeon Privacy Policy, section 4.
Refunds and withdrawal
Since Apple and Google collect the payment, refunds and withdrawal are handled by the store, under its rules and the law: with Apple through “Report a Problem”, with Google from the subscriptions page in Google Play. We don't collect payments and can't give refunds directly. All your rights as a consumer still apply. Deleting your Arkeon account doesn't cancel the subscription: cancel it first in the store.
5. Arky and monthly requests
Arky is Arkeon's artificial intelligence: it answers your questions, prepares training plans, assesses your data and suggests recipes. It's an AI, and we always tell you so: its replies come from an Anthropic model and from our own rules.
What to expect
- Arky gives general guidance and suggestions: it can make mistakes, or give information that's incomplete or not right for you. Judge them yourself, or with the professional who follows you, before acting on them.
- Arky isn't a doctor, doesn't make diagnoses and doesn't prepare diets or meal plans tailored to you: for those you need a doctor, a registered nutritionist or a dietitian.
- An Arky plan goes into your planner only if you confirm it.
Requests
- Arky is included in the PLUS and PRO plans, not in the FREE plan.
- Each month you have a number of requests: 150 with PLUS; with PRO, 300 in the 5- and 20-athlete tiers, 600 in the 50-athlete tier and 900 in the 100-athlete tier.
- Each feature uses a different number: a question uses 3, an assessment 2, an AI Chef recipe 2, a training plan 10.
- Requests renew every month, and unused ones don't carry over to the next month.
- During the free trial you have 20 requests in total: the plan's requests start with the first payment.
- During a week of PLUS gifted through “Invite a friend” you have 20 requests for each week, instead of the monthly ones; unused ones are reset when the gifted PLUS ends (section 4).
- If a request fails because of an error on our side, the requests used become available again.
- If these numbers change, we'll update these Terms following the rules in section 19.
How Arky uses your data, and what is sent to Anthropic, is explained in the Arkeon Privacy Policy, section 11.
6. Health and safety
Arkeon isn't a medical device
- Arkeon helps you train, keep track of your data and share it: it doesn't diagnose, treat or prevent any disease and doesn't replace a doctor.
- Don't use it to monitor an illness, to decide on a treatment or a medicine, or in emergencies: in an emergency, call the emergency number of the country you're in.
- Activity recording and notifications can stop because of the battery, the signal or your phone settings: don't rely on the app for your safety.
Numbers, scores and estimates
- Heart rate, calories, VO₂max, zones, training load, ARK FUEL, records, scores and assessments are estimates: they come from formulas, sensors, watches and what you enter, and they can be wrong.
- Wrist sensors and phones can measure heart rate, distance, elevation and sleep incorrectly. They're for training, not for monitoring your heart or other health problems.
Before you start
- Talk to a doctor before starting a training program or changing it significantly, especially if you have heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes or other illnesses, if you take medication, if you're pregnant or have recently given birth, or if you're coming back after an injury, surgery or a long period of inactivity.
- For races and competitive sport you need the medical examinations and certificates required by the law of your country (in Italy, the sports medical certificate, certificato medico sportivo): the app doesn't replace them.
- Increase loads, distances and intensity a little at a time, and give your body time to recover.
While training
- Stop immediately and get help if you feel pain or pressure in your chest, unusual shortness of breath, an irregular heartbeat, dizziness, fainting, nausea or sudden, severe pain. If the symptoms are serious, call the emergency number right away.
- A plan, a goal or a tip from the app never counts more than how you feel: if something's wrong, slow down or stop.
- In heat, cold or at altitude, drink, dress appropriately and lower the intensity.
Nutrition
- Food values come from our catalog, from what users enter and from open databases such as Open Food Facts: they can be wrong or incomplete. For allergies and intolerances, always check the label and ingredients.
- Arkeon doesn't prepare diets or personalized meal plans: AI Chef recipes and meal ideas are general information. Diets are prescribed by a doctor, a nutritionist or a dietitian.
- If counting calories, weighing yourself or logging meals makes you anxious or unwell, stop and talk to a professional.
Blood tests
- The app stores the values you enter and the range you copy from your lab report, without assessing them: to understand what they mean, talk to your doctor.
Arky and professionals
- Arky is an artificial intelligence and can make mistakes: its answers and plans are general guidance (section 5).
- Advice from the professionals you find in the app is their responsibility (section 12).
Outdoors and on machines
- When you train outdoors, your safety is up to you: watch the road, not the screen, and follow traffic rules and the rules of the places you're in. Maps, routes, sectors and weather can be wrong or out of date (section 14).
- On a treadmill or a smart trainer you set speed and incline with the machine's own controls: the app only reads, it doesn't control them. Always be ready to stop them with their own safety controls.
7. Rules of conduct
By using Arkeon you agree not to publish, send or do any of the following:
- illegal content, or content that incites crime;
- harassment, threats, bullying, hate or discrimination against people or groups;
- sexually explicit content, and any content that exploits or endangers minors;
- gratuitous violence, or content that encourages self-harm, eating disorders or practices that are dangerous to health;
- spam, scams, chain messages, misleading advertising;
- false information presented as true, especially about health;
- other people's personal data without their permission, or photos of people who don't want to appear in them;
- fake profiles, fake professionals or qualifications you don't have, or passing yourself off as someone else or as Arkeon;
- content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other third-party rights;
- cheating on times and leaderboards: activities done with motorized vehicles, modified files, other people's activities uploaded as yours.
You also can't: get around limits, plans or security measures; access other people's data; mass-copy content or data from the app with automated programs; disrupt the operation of the service; use Arkeon for commercial purposes not allowed by these Terms.
If you publish discount codes or content made for a brand, follow the advertising rules: clearly disclose the commercial relationship (for example with “#ad” or “advertising”). Arkeon isn't a party to those promotions.
8. Your content
The content you create or upload (workouts, posts, photos, videos, comments, messages, notes, sectors) stays yours.
To make the app work, you give us, until you delete it, a free, non-exclusive permission to store it, adapt it technically (for example resizing a photo or calculating an activity's data) and show it to the people you choose with the visibility settings. We don't use it to advertise Arkeon and we don't sell it.
By uploading content you confirm that you have the right to do so and, if other people are involved, their permission. When you delete content we stop showing it; some copies may remain for the periods stated in the Privacy Policy (for example backups or the evidence for a report).
Other users' content belongs to them: you can view and share it only with the app's controls and within the limits chosen by whoever published it.
9. Reports, moderation and sanctions
How to report
You can report posts, comments, Moments, profiles, professional profiles, reviews, messages, chats, groups, sectors, leaderboard times, Arky replies and collaboration requests with the “Report” command. If you don't have an account, or you'd rather write, you can do so at abuse@arkeonsport.com; for errors in features (foods, sectors, malfunctions), at report@arkeonsport.com. Specify the content (for example the link or the profile name), why you believe it's illegal or against these Terms, your name and your email, and confirm that you're making the report in good faith.
What happens
Every report is reviewed by a person on the team. Some automated signals, for example an account blocked by many people within a few days, only serve to make us look at a case: they don't decide anything on their own. If content breaks the law or these Terms, we can remove it, limit its visibility or take it off the leaderboards. We tell whoever published it what we decided and why; we tell whoever reported it the outcome, without the reasons given to the author.
Account sanctions
For serious or repeated violations we can suspend the account for a period, or ban it permanently. When this happens you see the reason and the duration in the app; while suspended you can only read the decision, dispute it, request your data or delete your account.
Disputing a decision
If you disagree with a decision made about your content, your account or one of your reports, write to abuse@arkeonsport.com from your account email within 6 months and explain why: a person on the team, other than whoever made the decision whenever possible, reviews the case and replies to you. You can also turn to an out-of-court dispute settlement body certified under Article 21 of the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065), lodge a complaint with the Italian Communications Authority (Autorità per le garanzie nelle comunicazioni, AGCOM), the Digital Services Coordinator in Italy, or go to court.
If we become aware of a criminal offence that threatens someone's life or safety, we report it to the authorities as the law requires.
10. Posts, groups, chats and visibility
- When you publish, you choose who sees the post: “Everyone” means all registered Arkeon users, not anyone on the internet. You can change your mind or delete the post whenever you want.
- You're responsible for what you publish and for who you add to a post: the people you add appear only if they accept.
- A group's creator and its admins look after its rules and members, in line with these Terms.
- In chat, write respectfully; you can decide who can message you, mute a chat and block a person.
- When you block someone, you no longer find or see each other in profiles, posts and direct messages; in groups you're both in, you no longer see their messages, but they can still read yours.
Who sees what, in detail, is in the Arkeon Privacy Policy, section 7.
11. Sectors and leaderboards
Sectors are sections of a route created by users, on which the app records your times.
- Create sectors only on roads and trails open to the public that can be used safely, never on private property or in dangerous places. People who have done a sector can report a hazard on it: it shows as a warning on its page, without removing the leaderboard.
- Only times from activities with a public post go on the leaderboards. You're on them from the start, because leaderboards are a feature of the service; you can leave them whenever you want with the “Appear in leaderboards” switch in Settings › Privacy controls. If you're 16 or 17, the switch starts off.
- We can remove suspicious or reported times from the leaderboards, for example ones done with motorized vehicles.
- Leaderboards aren't official results and don't count as proof of a performance.
- Don't chase a time at the expense of your own safety or other people's: always follow traffic rules.
12. Professionals and collaborations
For athletes
- The professionals on Arkeon (coaches, nutritionists, physiotherapists, doctors, psychologists and the other roles in the app) work independently: Arkeon provides the tool, but isn't a party to your relationship with them and isn't responsible for their services or their advice.
- For regulated professions (registered nutritionist, dietitian, doctor, physiotherapist, psychologist), the verification badge means that the team checked the stated registration in the professional register, with the documents uploaded, at the time of verification. It isn't a guarantee of the quality of their work. The other roles aren't verified.
- Agreements and payments with the professional happen outside the app: Arkeon doesn't collect payments and doesn't act as an intermediary.
- You decide what the professional sees, item by item (Arkeon Privacy Policy, section 9).
- Reviews must describe a real experience with that professional, in Arkeon or, if they allow it, outside it.
For professionals
To use the professional area you need a PRO subscription (section 4) and to accept the Professional Terms and the Data Processing Agreement for professionals. When you use the professional area, you're acting in your professional capacity: some rules in these Terms apply to you differently (section 17).
13. Connected devices and services
You can connect apps and services from other companies to Arkeon: Apple Health, Google Health Connect, Polar, Wahoo once it's available, Bluetooth sensors (heart rate straps, power meters and speed sensors, treadmills, e-bikes) and GPX, FIT or TCX files from your devices.
- Those services are provided by their owners, under their own terms: we don't control them. Polar and Wahoo in particular give no warranty, express or implied (including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement), and are not liable for any indirect, special, consequential or punitive damages related to their use through Arkeon.
- Arkeon is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Apple, Google, Polar or Wahoo.
- Only import files and activities that are yours.
- By connecting a service you agree that imported workouts and measurements stay in your account even after you disconnect, until you choose to delete them: you can do so when you disconnect, later from Settings › Devices and integrations, or by deleting your account.
14. Maps, routes, weather and elevation
Maps, calculated routes, roads estimated where GPS lost the signal, weather, elevation and place names come from open data and third-party services (OpenStreetMap, OpenFreeMap, openrouteservice, Open-Meteo, AWS Terrain Tiles), provided as is. They may be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date.
A route calculated by the app is a suggestion, not a guarantee that the road is passable or safe: it may use busy roads or roads without a sidewalk, unpaved roads, closed roads or roads where pedestrians or bicycles aren't allowed. Before following it, even after exporting it to your watch, check that it's suitable for you and your means of transport, judge the safety yourself and always follow road signs and traffic rules.
The data sources and their licenses are in Settings › Sources & Licenses.
15. Intellectual property and trademarks
The app, the website, the graphics, the texts, the exercise catalog, our own metrics (marked with “© Arkeon”) and the Arkeon™ trademark belong to Arkeon or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable permission to use the app as these Terms provide: for yourself as an athlete, or for your work with PRO. You can't copy it, resell it or build competing services from it, except for what the law allows you to do anyway.
The open data used by the app (for example OpenStreetMap and Open Food Facts) remains subject to its licenses, listed in Settings › Sources & Licenses.
Arkeon mentions names that are trademarks of their respective owners. The use is only descriptive and doesn't indicate affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement. In particular:

The scientific formulas and models used by the app are published in the literature and cited in the information sheets (for example Wilks, DOTS and IPF GL Points, Daniels' VDOT, Coggan's zones, Banister's TRIMP, Foster's sRPE, Jackson-Pollock and Durnin-Womersley, POMS, RESTQ, DALDA, Hooper Index, ABQ).
16. Service availability and changes
- We do our best to keep Arkeon working at all times, but we can't guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors: there may be maintenance, provider outages or network problems.
- To use some features you may need the latest version of the app.
- Features marked as a test or preview may change or disappear.
- If we shut down the service, or remove a feature included in a paid subscription, we'll tell you in the app at least 60 days in advance. If you paid in advance for a period you won't be able to use, you can ask the store for a refund and we'll help you; before the shutdown you can download your data with “Download a copy”.
17. Liability
If you're a consumer
We're liable for the service as the law provides. Nothing in these Terms removes or limits the rights the law gives you, including the guarantee of conformity for digital content and services under the Italian Consumer Code (Codice del consumo).
What isn't up to us
Unless we're at fault, we aren't liable for:
- third-party services and data (stores, connected services, maps, weather, open data);
- content published by other users and services offered by professionals;
- damage caused by use contrary to these Terms or to the safety guidance in section 6;
- anything caused by force majeure.
If you're a professional
When you use Arkeon for your professional activity, our liability to you is limited to what you paid for the PRO subscription in the 12 months before the event that caused the damage, and doesn't include indirect damage such as loss of earnings. You specifically approve this limitation and the choice of court in section 20 when you accept the Professional Terms (Articles 1341 and 1342 of the Italian Civil Code).
No limitation applies in case of willful misconduct or gross negligence, or to harm to people's life or health.
18. Duration, account closure and sanctions
- The contract lasts as long as you have an account. You can stop using Arkeon and delete your account whenever you want, from Settings › Account › Delete account, at no cost. If you've been banned and can no longer sign in, request deletion at privacy@arkeonsport.com.
- Deleting your account doesn't cancel your subscription: cancel it first in the store settings (section 4). What happens to your data is explained in the Arkeon Privacy Policy, section 15.
- We can suspend or close an account for violations of these Terms or of the law, under the rules in section 9, or when an authority asks us to.
- If we shut down the service, the notice and rules in section 16 apply.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example when features, plans or the law change. The date of the latest version is at the top of the page. When the changes are significant, the first time you open the app we'll ask you to read and accept them to continue. If you don't agree, you can stop using Arkeon, delete your account and cancel your subscription in the store. Changes that remove paid features follow the 60-day notice in section 16.
20. Governing law, courts and language
- These Terms are governed by Italian law. If you're a consumer and live in another European Union country, you also keep the protections that the law of your country doesn't allow to be taken away.
- If you're a consumer, the court of the place where you live has jurisdiction over disputes. In other cases, including professionals acting in their professional capacity, the court of Perugia has jurisdiction.
- These Terms are translated into several languages: if the versions differ, the Italian text prevails.
- Before going to court, write to us: we always try to sort things out together.
